Cancún earrings, exciting news for Forsyth County - Copper House North Weekly Roundup

Hello!

The turquoise earrings are finished and ready for new homes. I called this small batch the Cancún collection, since the turquoise blues paired with the sandy orange/brown copper was inspired by our trip there.

I'd say they're all statement earrings, especially the block-shaped ones. The colors are striking to wear when visiting a city near the water. But the turquoise is at home when visiting the Southwest, too.

Forsyth County, GA - coming soon

Jannell Palms, the owner of All in the Palms Salon Studio, has been styling my curls since 2009. Once I found her, I wasn't letting her go.

She, and her salon, has been the source of never-ending creative inspiration, including the inspiration behind the The Stance, a short story I wrote just before starting work on the The Miracle Farm. I've valued her creativity for years and, likewise, she's valued mine.

Well, she's been incredibly generous to offer a place inside her salon to sell my work! 🎉 What's equally beautiful is she's giving me free reign with what I place there. (Did I mention how generous she is?)

For a first-go, I'll be selling a small batch of jewelry, a few notebooks and several greeting cards. My hope is having this space will give you a new way to experience my work (read: you'll be able to hold it before buying!), and help new people find Copper House North, and All in the Palms, for the first time. It's exciting to think about! I'll share more details when things are finalized.

If you live in the Atlanta area, or know someone who does and might like my work, would you please share this news? Word of mouth is a powerful thing. I can't thank you enough!

On the mountain this week

Copper House North Weekly Roundup

Each Friday, peek behind the curtain of a tech-pro-turned-artist and author. I'll share what I've been working on and occasional "just because" stories I think you'll enjoy. I love to share beauty, make you smile or think, and encourage you. I'm also an unapologetic hugger. Don't judge.

The Weekly Roundup, Ed. 93 Hi! You may (or may not) have noticed I’m sending this email on Monday and not Friday. And thus begins a change to the Copper House North Weekly Roundup. Since July, my creative energy has been shifting toward a new love of video and, most recently, animation. The change has been incredibly exciting. I find myself wanting to spend ALL my creative time in this way. 😯 The intent of this newsletter has been to add value to your life in the form of beauty, creativity,...

The Weekly Roundup, Ed. 92 Making art with paper. I recently bought stacks of paper in a rainbow of colors so I can create without limitation. Hello! I almost didn't send this email. It's Friday at 7 a.m. as I write and I normally write my newsletter on Thursday, at the latest. I didn't think I had much to share. But then I remembered that even though this paper snowman may not be "much", he might make you happy. Using paper as an art medium is certainly making me happy! The snowman is going...

The Weekly Roundup, Ed. 91 You know it's Christmas-time when the mums are swapped out for festive topiaries and red bows at the grocery store. Hi! This week I created 1 new stop-motion animation made entirely with paper and inspired by the release of the movie Wicked: For Good today. I loved the original movie so much I've just been waiting for the next one! It's one of the rare movies I'm planning to watch in a theater, with a good friend. Here's the animation: And here's a look inside my...
